M. Selim Ünlü, PHD, Distinguished Professor of Engineering, Boston University. Dr Ünlü received his BSc (1986) in Electrical Engineering from METU and his PhD (1992) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since 1992, he has been a member of the Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty at Boston University, where he also holds appointments in the biomedical, materials engineering, physics and graduate medical science departments.
His research interests are in Biotechnology and Nanotechnology, with a particular focus on biosensors and digital (single nanoparticle/molecule) sensing. He has hundreds of scientific papers and more than twenty patents. He was elected as a Fellow of IEEE (2007), OSA/Optica (2017), and AIMBE (2019), served as the editor-in-chief of IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, and won the TUBITAK special award (2008).
